From budget-friendly retailers to high-end brands, these are the best outdoor furniture offers I could find

Amy Lockwood
The late May bank holiday weekend is not only the perfect time to indulge in some relaxation, fun and DIY projects, it’s also the time to take advantage of many a retailer’s sales and offers – especially garden furniture deals.
If your outdoor space still isn’t quite up to scratch and ready for summer hosting and you haven’t got your hands on this year’s best garden furniture, this is the time to do it, just before the truly warm months arrive – and bag yourself a bargain while you’re at it.
That’s why I spent hours searching the internet to see which brands currently have the best offers on and which deals are worth investing in the most. This should hopefully make finding the best garden furniture deals a whole lot easier for you. Happy shopping!

Garden lounge set deals
Debenhams knows just how to serve up a deal as the retailer's extensive garden furniture offering is currently up to 70% off. This Debenhams L-shaped outdoor sofa and table set offers 46% off with an extra 25% on top - don't ask why, just enjoy it. And the design looks like a few much more pricey, high-end alternatives. Be fast though, there are only a few left!
Even outside big deal events like Amazon prime day, the online retailer always has some deals in store. If you're a fan of rattan garden furniture then this extremely affordable set for under £100 with a traditional design might just be the one for you. And you'll be getting 47% off the original price!
If you're after a budget-friendly wooden lounge set for your garden, this George Home design with the addition of chic rattan panels is some of the best wooden garden furniture. Especially if you consider the low price, the 20% discount and the fact it's made with high quality FSC-certified eucalyptus wood.
Very currently has a Bank Holiday sale on, including up to 30% off on garden furniture. And while this rattan-effect corner sofa and coffee table set is discounted by less than that - £50 to be exact - it is one of the best designs in the sale, as well as one of the bestsellers. It's currently selling like hot cakes - so be fast!
Garden dining sets
La Redoute doesn't just bring elevated French style to your outdoor spaces but also clever designs - like this space-saving dining set. Made with acacia wood, this fully foldable set perfect for small balconies and gardens is currently 40% off.
If you're thinking the you read the original price vs the price wrong, you didn't! And that's exactly why Debenhams should be firmly on your radar for garden furniture deals. With 70% off and extra 25% off applied on top, this is one of the best outdoor furniture offers I've seen this month.
If you're after a classic bistro set for your garden, it doesn't get much more classic or high quality than Garden Trading's iconic Rive Droite set. Just like everything else from the entire site, this timeless set is currently 20% off. And it's available in several different colourways.
Garden chairs and seating
La Redoute's designer-look garden furniture at reasonable prices is currently even further discounted. And I particularly love this set of garden chairs - not just because they look like the HAY Palissade ones, but also because they're made with rust-resistant aluminium.
This outdoor hanging egg chair from Barker and Stonehouse is one of the most stylish, and now best value with 20% off, options I've come across. Available in black or natural, this bestselling design will make a great focal point in the garden.
Talk about a bargain! Outdoor sofas - much like the traditional ones - can be quite spenny! But not DUSK's Lisbon range of modular faux rattan outdoor sofas which are on offer quite regularly actually. Right now, you can get the compact 2-seater with a £404 discount no less!
This QVC garden chair is the perfect alternative to the currently sold out Marcy sling garden chair that the whole Ideal Home team is obsessed with. And now that it's under £100 thanks to the 20% discount, you can't miss out on this one!
Garden furniture shopping advice
Knowing how to choose garden furniture is an important piece of information to have in your back pocket. After all, you can easily spend more than you'd like on pieces you think you need but that you don't actually need.
So, before you start shopping for your new garden furniture, you need to really think about the space that you're working with and what you require from your garden furniture. Do you want a sunbathing spot? Are you looking to host al fresco dinner parties for all of your friends and family? Or do you just want a little nook to enjoy your morning coffee in peace?
By figuring out the pieces that you need and whether they fit in your space, you can then move on to the next feature: the material.
If you don't have space to store your garden furniture in the winter, opt for a weather-proof material that will last outside in the wet and cold. If you do have space, you can be a little more flexible with the material you choose.
However, creating a relaxation-ready garden or patio that's ready to entertain isn't just about getting your outdoor furniture sorted, and if you can transform your outside space whilst the sales are on, then you're likely to save a tidy sum on a makeover.

When to shop
You can find garden furniture available at great prices pretty much all year round. But some periods are definitely better and more plentiful than others…
Early spring
According to most experts, early spring - between March and April - is the best time to buy garden furniture as this is the time most of the new collections from most retailers drop and many brands have early garden furniture offers on.
‘Garden collections are hitting the shelves earlier every year as consumers aim to beat the big summer rush when the demand rockets and stock runs low,’ says Rikke Blaeside, design and range manager at JYSK. ‘Early spring is when new launches begin, so is a great time to get your hands on a specific piece while stock is aplenty.’
Chloe Barrow, interior expert at Laura James, continues, ‘Early spring is actually the best time to buy or place a pre-order because the weather isn’t great and many people aren’t quite thinking about summer just yet. The rain deters people from investing in garden furniture, so you truly do get the pick of new collections and high quality products in on-trend styles. Some retailers may start to put up prices as the weather becomes warmer and interest in garden furniture peaks, so March to April is the best time to get great quality products at fair prices.’
Bank Holiday
In the UK, bank holiday garden furniture deals are becoming increasingly common – especially in May, July and August when sun-lovers want to spend their days off enjoying the delights of their garden.
August Bank Holiday garden furniture deals are one of the best times to grab a bargain, as the last bank holiday of the year is often associated with a rise in consumer spending.
Amazon Prime Day
Amazon Prime Day can mean some great Prime Day garden furniture deals. This year Amazon Prime Day will land on the 8th and 9th October.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday
Often hailed as the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday always falls on the last Friday of November, so it will next occur on Friday 29th November 2024. Although originally a US specific discount period to follow Thanksgiving, the price-slashing event is worldwide, and now Black Friday – closely followed by Cyber Monday – has become one of the UK's sales events.
In recent years, many brands and retailers have spread the sale across several days, or even weeks rather than just having Black Friday itself. For the past two years, we even saw some running promotions throughout the whole month of November.
Previous years have seen some hefty Black Friday discounts on garden furniture so we'll be keeping our eyes open for this year's best Black Friday garden furniture deals and Cyber Monday garden furniture deals right here, but make sure to bookmark the Ideal Home Black Friday home deals page to get alerts for all the biggest Black Friday homeware sales as they launch.
Boxing Day
Boxing Day is typically associated with electronics, appliance, and mattress deals. And while some retailers may try to tempt customers with deals on their leftover garden furniture stock, Boxing Day garden furniture deals aren't as common as you might think. That's not to say that there aren't any, though.
January sales
Shortly after the best Boxing Day deals you'll find the best January deals, which are once again dominated by electronics and appliances.
While big brands know that most people want to score a bargain after Christmas spending, options to buy the best garden furniture are still limited during this time.
It's still a good idea to keep an eye out for any clearance items, though, as some retailers may be trying to clear out their garden furniture stock ready for a brand-new season.
FAQs
What time of year does garden furniture go on sale?
The best time to look out for garden furniture deals is as the summer season is drawing to a close; between between August and October in the UK. This is when retailers launch end-of-season sales to clear summer stock and free up space in-store and online for Christmas stock.
Of course, that tends to mean that the weather for enjoying your new purchase is coming to an end, but if you don't mind storing your bargains away for the year ahead, then shopping for garden furniture deals at the end of the season is a great way to save cash – and get ahead of the curve before peak garden furniture prices hit in March, April, and May.
That said, retailers can launch garden furniture deals earlier in the season too, especially if spring weather has been wet and cool and they're getting nervous about sitting on excess summer stock.
If you have your eye on a particular piece then the best way to stay in the loop regarding sales is to sign up to the brand's email newsletter, this way you're likely to be the first to hear about garden furniture sales when prices drop. Plus, Ideal Home's garden discount codes are another great way to save.
Is it worth it to buy expensive outdoor furniture?
As with most furniture, including the best sofas, you tend to get what you pay for when shopping for outdoor furniture. That means that usually higher prices do equal better quality and longevity. But that doesn’t mean you have to spend thousands on a luxury set.
‘Whilst investing in garden furniture may feel like a large chunk of money to spend, you may end up spending more over time if you choose a cheaper option in the short term,’ explains Chloe Barrow, interior expert at Laura James. ‘Many more affordable pieces under £100 aren’t made of quality materials, meaning that they’re often unable to withstand British weather conditions and end up with rips, tears, and being a pain to clean. I encourage buyers to read material labels carefully. Find and invest in true quality pieces that will last you years and not just one summer.’
